Season Kick-off Day Race Round 1: May 15, 2011
Skipper’s Choice #1– 1 Leg Starting at 11:00 a.m. between the Committee boat and the Marmion Island Day Mark, the boats will sail ONE of these courses:
A. North into Taku Inlet rounding the buoy off Jaw Point on a starboard tack, returning and crossing an imaginary line bearing 060 magnetic to the Marmion Island Day mark.
SEAS will be participating in the Second Annual Juneau Maritime Festival.
There will be three sailboats rotating through the downtown dock giving rides to anyone who would like to take a 15-20 minute sail.
It is a great time, and all ages are welcome.
Are you interested in sailing? If you have a sailboat, or are just looking to learn how to sail, come down to Sandy Beach on May 7 between 1700-2300 (that would be 5:00 pm - 11:00 pm, lubbers) and meet the people who make up SEAS.
On April 13, fourteen skippers were present along with other members and those interested in learning by crewing and helping with maintenance this summer.
After the introduction of old and new members, and SEAS guests, the discussions began. Our old friend, Brad Tibbs, S/V Freebird, interjected a wealth of information from his years of experience as a machinist.
