Nominations for Treasurer Needed

Nikolay Barkov, the SEAS treasurer, will be moving to Seattle at the end of May. As a result, SEAS is looking for a member willing to fill the treasurer position through the end of the 2018 term. If you are willing to serve as treasurer or if you would like to nominate someone to serve, please contact the club Commodore, Craig Wilson, by noon Wednesday, May 9. Thank you for considering serving!  You may contact Craig directly, or send him a message through the Contact SEAS link under "About SEAS" on the website.

Coast Guard wants input on Gastineau Channel

From the USCG:

Coast Guard Sector Juneau Waterways Division has started a WAMS, waterway analysis and Management System survey for Gastineau Channel through Mendenhall Bar to Fritz Cove. A WAMS assessment looks at all Aids to Navigation, publications, and facilities to ensure the CG has the best/safest navigation set up for the area. There hasn't been a thorough analysis since 2003 so there is a lot that we will be taking in. We would appreciate the input from any members of SEAS on this survey, as we are looking for additional information from waterway users that operate North of the bridge. It would be greatly appreciated if you could forward the survey to any interested members. The survey is open though March and can be found at
